Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Australian Rail Track Corporation Full time

About ARTC

At the forefront of Australia's rail network, Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) is driving transformation through strategic investments and modernisation. With a strong commitment to linking the nation, we're shaping the future of freight transport.

The Safety & Environment team at ARTC plays a pivotal role in identifying improvement opportunities and providing governance frameworks that meet legal obligations and strive for industry best practices. This dynamic team collaborates with business units to deliver support services, achieving success by influencing, innovating, listening, and responding to operational needs.

This critical role offers a unique opportunity to build relationships with regulators and provide expert advice on rail safety accreditation, variations, and changes. As ARTC continues to evolve as industry leaders, you'll also liaise and advise on work health and safety matters.

To succeed, you'll need well-rounded communication and influencing skills to foster collaborative working relationships with ARTC's regulators. You'll ensure timely management of regulatory matters and actions, supporting the response to requests. Your proactive approach will be sought as subject matter expertise across a range of WHS matters, providing functional safety support to ARTC teams.

A strong career history in rail safety is ideal, but experience in heavy engineering, infrastructure, or mining and energy environments with a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks is highly regarded. Tertiary qualifications or relevant industry certifications are desirable.

Working with ARTC comes with a range of benefits, including:

  • Opportunities to work on major projects within a long-term program
  • Competitive remuneration package
  • Flexible working options
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Program

We offer numerous financial, lifestyle, health, and wellbeing benefits, including salary sacrifice options and discounts. Our inclusive culture values diversity, respect, and fairness, providing a supportive workplace where your hard work and achievements are recognised.

As an equal opportunity employer, ARTC seeks talented employees regardless of age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, religion, or cultural background. We're committed to making a real difference for Australia's first peoples and encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent candidates.

With an uncompromising commitment to physical and mental health and safety, we provide ongoing development opportunities to help you grow with us.
