Debt Collection Specialist Job Description

The role of Debt Collection Specialist is a crucial one in ensuring the timely recovery of outstanding accounts. This specialist will work closely with the Senior Accounts Receivable and Financial Accounting teams to maintain respectful and compassionate communication with clients while ensuring financial precision.

A balance of empathy and analytical skills is required for this position, particularly when dealing with sensitive situations involving aged care clients.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to resolving issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate Accurate Reports: Generate and maintain accurate Debtors' Reports across all business lines, providing detailed insights into outstanding accounts.
  • Initiate Follow-ups: Monitor overdue accounts and initiate follow-ups with internal AR teams and external debt collection agencies to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Liaise with Management: Liaise with management to communicate recommendations and outcomes, ensuring seamless collaboration between teams.
  • Manage the Debt Collection Inbox: Manage the Debt Collection inbox efficiently, prioritizing and responding to client inquiries in a timely manner.
