Role Summary

Provide expert service and maintenance for heavy-duty applications in the marine and energy industries. This involves executing work according to agreed workflows, adhering to standard processes and safety guidelines.

The successful candidate will deliver exceptional customer service, identify new business opportunities, and work closely with customers and other teams to achieve this goal.

Key Responsibilities:

Field service and workshop repairs: attend sites, perform field work, including breakdowns, preventative maintenance, installation, and commissioning. Workshop tasks involve dismantling, assembly, cleaning of parts, and using precision equipment and machinery while following safety and health rules and considering site conditions.

Planning and coordination: prepare and control all necessary materials, equipment, and documentation for site activities, organized according to contractual and supplementary documentation.

Repair and troubleshooting: conduct detailed inventories and inspections to determine required maintenance, report findings, troubleshoot equipment, and recommend changes such as new equipment or modified procedures to improve performance and customer satisfaction.

Reporting and customer relations: prepare technical and work reports for signature by the customer representative.

Compliance and training: obtain necessary passes or attend classes to commence works.

Required Qualifications:

A mechanical trade certificate or 2-3 years' experience working in turbochargers on marine vessels or mechanical fitters/diesel fitters is essential. Experience in rotating machinery service, particularly turbocharging service, is preferred. Familiarity with turbochargers and product service knowledge of various turbocharger types installed on two-stroke or four-stroke engines are advantageous.

The individual should also have knowledge and skills in operating rotating machinery, such as balancing machines, lathes, and drills, as well as proficiency in using metrics and measuring tools.

Additionally, the applicant must be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident and prepared for approximately 40% travel to sites for field service work.
