Job Title: Optical Dispenser

This is a full-time opportunity to work as an Optical Dispenser in our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily responsibilities including weekend shifts and rotational roster.
  • Assist members with choosing eyeglass frames and lens options appropriate to their prescription.
  • Fits and adjusts lenses to eyeglass frames. Dispenses eyeglasses and contacts.
  • Measure member's eyes for pupilary distance to determine spectacle placement.
  • Provide information and address questions regarding prescriptions, merchandise, and services. Refer to physician when necessary.
  • Process sales. Organise and fill member spectacle and contact lens prescriptions.
  • Stock department equipment, merchandise, and supplies. Follow established procedures and standards for production, record keeping, merchandising, and merchandise storage.
  • Clean the department. Ensure accurate payment for merchandise and make change accordingly.
  • Exercise discretion and confidentiality with all patient information.
  • Follow proper optical centre, general safety and security procedures, and standards.
  • Assist in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
  • Provide prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Education: High school certificate or higher.
  • Licenses/Certifications: None required.
  • Experience: Cashier or comparable experience preferred.
  • Knowledge/Skills: Essential optical experience – Level 4 optical dispensing skills desirable.
