About the Role

This leadership position is responsible for managing a high activity transport operation, ensuring compliance with regulations, and driving positive change within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and implementing strategies to improve operational efficiency and productivity
  • Maintaining strong relationships with clients, management, contractors, and staff through effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations, including driver fatigue and chain of responsibility legislation
  • Investigating service failures, acting on corrective actions, and closing out issues in a timely manner
  • Managing budgets, balancing expenditure, and resourcing needs to deliver high-quality services
  • Working closely with department managers to plan resource utilization and personnel allocation for annual and personal leave periods
  • Taking ownership and accountability for making solid decisions based on business knowledge and industry expertise
  • Reporting incidents and hazards immediately and implementing corrective actions
  • Developing and enforcing processes to improve performance and efficiency
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in transport management
  • Prior experience in managing fleets of over 20 vehicles
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety culture and behavior
  • Strong teamwork attitude with upward and downward management
  • Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Well-developed communication and time management skills
  • A 'can do' attitude and ability to problem-solve effectively
  • Liaising with clients, management, contractors, and staff
