Are you curious about behaviours and understanding the reason behind why a person uses challenging behaviours?

Do you want to help people break down barriers to reveal their true abilities and live a life with less restrictions?

If so, our organisation is ready to train you to become a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner.

You will deliver best-practice, person-centred support to individuals who use challenging behaviours. You will build long-term relationships with people and their support networks as you help them to create a vision for a life without restrictions and with positive interactions, activities, and experiences.

Working with people of all ages and achieving outcomes for greater quality of life and less restriction. You will complete our industry-leading PBS training programme and ongoing development programme.

Our PBS Practitioners are part of a contemporary and innovative team who meet regularly to celebrate successes, unpack challenges, and learn. We have also embedded reflection days into our programme because we know that in order to deliver a world-class service, learning development, and the wellbeing of our practitioners must be prioritised.

  • Ensure all PBS practices and interventions are compliant with relevant legislation, research evidence, and professional reasoning when recommending the most appropriate PBS therapy strategies, duration, location, and timing.

  • Enhance the capacity of individuals to make their own life choices and increase their independence.
  • Approach risk in a positive way to achieve quality of life outcomes, whilst ensuring that safeguards are in place to maximise the rights of individuals and protect the most vulnerable.

In this role, you will:

- Attend peer group supervision/mentoring and internal supports to help grow your expertise and skills.

- Complete online learning through our LMS system, where you will learn about Functionally Equivalent Replacement Behaviours and Teaching Strategies.

- Participate in weekly team meetings and contribute thoughts, ideas, and solutions.

- Complete reflective practice to develop evidence-based plans.
