Dedicated Behavioural Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Behavioural Support Specialist to join our team on the Gold Coast/Far North NSW Coast area. This is a 12-month maternity leave cover with a balanced caseload of between 14-16 participants already engaged with a Positive Behaviour Support Plan in place.
About the Role:- The primary role of the Behaviour Support Practitioner is to work alongside people with a disability (PWD) and their supporters to improve the individual's overall quality of life while reducing current risks of harm.
- The Behaviour Support Practitioner uses evidence-based data collection, assessments, and a Functional Behaviour Assessment (FBA) to inform the strategies within a Positive Behaviour Support Plan (PBSP).
- Morning - Visiting participants to check how well their PBS strategies are working and gathering feedback.
- Midday - Writing notes and reviewing outstanding competencies within the PBS Capability Framework.
- Afternoon - Participating in online team meetings and Stakeholder Meetings to provide updates and discuss challenges.
- Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Behavioural Sciences, Education or other relevant allied health qualification (or in the process of completing)
- AND/OR 2+ years of experience within the Health, Disability or Community Sector/s
- Ability to obtain and maintain a current Driver's License, Blue Card, NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, evidence of right to work in Australia, and a criminal history check
- Ability to be flexible
- Strong capacity for autonomy
- Emotional intelligence and resilience
- Ability to independently manage tasks and deadlines through organisation and time-management skills
