Remote Area Healthcare Professional

We are seeking a skilled Remote Area Nurse/Midwife to work in primary and public health settings across the Northern Territory. This role requires extensive experience, skills, and knowledge in remote practice settings.

This position is ideal for professionals who thrive in dynamic environments and can work effectively in teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive services in remote clinics
  • Closely collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure culturally sensitive and appropriate services are delivered
  • Operate manual vehicles and travel to remote communities on a regular basis by 4WD or light plane
  • Participate in an on-call roster providing 24/7 emergency care
Requirements:
  • Advanced nursing/midwifery knowledge, skills, attributes, and abilities within a specified area of clinical practice
  • Able to work effectively with less experienced healthcare staff
  • Current vaccinations, remote emergency management, and midwifery emergency management certification
Selection Criteria:
  • N3 or N4 level dependent on the successful applicant's qualifications and experience
