Remote Healthcare Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Remote Area Nurse/Midwife in the Northern Territory. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, providing high-quality healthcare services to communities across the NT.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive healthcare services to remote clinics.
  • Develop and implement culturally appropriate healthcare programs that cater to the specific needs of Aboriginal communities.
  • Participate in 24/7 emergency on-call rosters and respond promptly to medical emergencies.
  • Provide direct and indirect clinical care to patients, including those with complex presentations.

The successful applicant will possess advanced nursing/midwifery knowledge, skills, and attributes, with experience driving a manual vehicle and eligibility to obtain an NT driver's license. They must also be willing to travel to remote communities regularly by 4WD or light plane.

Selection Criteria:
  • Advanced nursing/midwifery knowledge, skills, and attributes within a specified area of clinical practice.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement culturally appropriate healthcare programs.
  • Current vaccination, remote emergency management, and midwifery emergency management certification.
