We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Church and Community Collaboration Specialist. This is a pivotal role that requires a proactive, community-focused individual who is ready to make a significant impact across NSW and ACT.
Key Responsibilities- Building and Nurturing Partnerships: Develop and maintain strong relationships between Uniting services and various Uniting Church bodies, including Synod, Presbyteries, and Congregations.
- Community Engagement: Engage with local communities to understand their needs and integrate this insight into mission activities.
- Innovative Collaboration: Encourage innovative approaches to collaboration that challenge the status quo, with the aim of achieving Uniting's mission through community and Church partnerships.
- Capacity Building: Organise and deliver workshops and capacity-building activities to enhance collaboration between Church and community members.
- Community Crisis Response: Support or lead responses to community crises, ensuring Uniting's resources are mobilised effectively.
- Strategic Resource Use: Provide input on strategic resource use, ensuring effective stewardship of assets.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Church & Community Collaboration Lead and the Mission Directorate to translate strategic objectives into actionable plans.
- Tertiary qualifications in community development, social work, or a related field, or a minimum of 5 years of equivalent experience.
- Significant experience in community development practices, including community organising and engagement, particularly within faith-based or not-for-profit organisations.
- Proven ability to facilitate discussions, workshops, and meetings.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
- Willingness to travel across NSW and ACT, working in both metro and regional settings.
- An Australian Driver's Licence and a Working with Children Check.
- Knowledge of the Uniting Church in Australia and its structure.
- Experience working with youth, multicultural communities, and in future-focused growth opportunities.
- A background in adult education or community planning processes.
- A deep understanding of community services and social issues.
