The Contracts Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring that contract requirements are met and UGL's interests are protected. This involves promoting and implementing effective commercial practices, including contractual compliance, to reduce project cost and risk while maintaining value for clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contract Administration: Lead scope of works planning, ensuring that scope gaps are minimized, cost efficiencies are maximized, and subcontractor capabilities are considered.
  • Stakeholder Management: Maintain contact and good working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders and maintain good awareness of market conditions and movements.
  • Risk Management: Assess upstream and downstream commercial and contractual risks, identify and implement appropriate controls, and escalate actual or potential issues to Commercial Manager and Project Manager.
  • Contract Administration: Ensure upstream contracts are administered effectively to ensure responsibilities and obligations of the contract are met, and UGL's rights and interests are protected in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner.
  • Claims and Variations: Be instrumental in the drafting and submission of Variations and Claims, in accordance with the contract requirements.
  • Dispute Resolution: Assist with head contract dispute resolution processes as required.

Requirements

  • Education: Tertiary educated in Engineering, Commerce/Business, Law, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 7-10 years of relevant experience in upstream commercial, with a few years in managing a contracts team.
