Greenhouse Horticulturist Job Overview

This role involves working in our Glasshouse, providing expert advice and assistance to customers regarding plant selection, care and maintenance solutions. The successful candidate will assist in maintaining the health and appearance of Glasshouse plants, including watering, fertilising, pruning, and pest control.

Duties:
  • Customer Support: Provide expert advice and assistance to customers, addressing their inquiries and offering personalised recommendations based on their gardening needs.
  • Plant Care: Monitor and maintain the health and appearance of Glasshouse plants, conducting regular inspections to identify and address any signs of disease or stress.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with receiving deliveries, stock placement, and offloading, ensuring precision in labelling and organisation of stock.
  • Maintenance: Merchandise stock by organising plants logically, creating seasonal displays, using colour coordination and varied heights for visual appeal.
Key Requirements:
  • Post-secondary horticultural education is required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of INDOOR PLANTS experience in a retail nursery is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively.
  • Punctual, responsible, and able to commit to a flexible work schedule, including weekends.
  • Able to follow processes and procedures in an organised and efficient way.
