Automation Systems Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Automation Technician to join our team on a FIFO basis.
- This role is focused on providing onsite support for new technology and equipment within areas of automation, wireless communications, and remote-control units.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing technical support, diagnosing issues, repairing equipment, and coordinating the escalation of unscheduled repairs.
- Diagnosing and resolving complex technical problems related to electro-mechanical systems, electronics, and wireless communication systems.
- Designing simple diagnostics experiments and testing electronic components and circuits.
- Utilizing various diagnostic instruments such as DMMs, DSOs, etc.
- Developing a general understanding of common terminology of the 802.3 Ethernet protocol.
- Configuring wireless Access Point and mobile device computer configurations.
- Working with UNIX or Linux operating system, including basic administration tasks.
- Applying principles of sensors and sensor logic and data acquisition.
- Using serial communications busses.
- Demonstrating FIFO remote site experience and mining industry knowledge.
This is a full-time position with an initial 12-month contract plus rolling extensions. The successful applicant will work an 8/6 roster and must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
