Statutory Planning Role:

As a statutory planner, you will play a crucial part in contributing to the success of this Victorian state entity as it enters a new era of environmental protection. Working under the direction of the team leader, you will actively contribute to a positive organisational culture and achieve high standards of performance and integrity; fostering genuine partnerships across all levels of government, industry, and community to deliver organisational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for delivering planning decisions that have significant environmental impacts, and for earth resources projects under the Mineral Resources (Sustainable Development) Act 1990.
  • You will actively contribute to the development of a positive and high-performing team culture, including identifying and implementing opportunities to improve teamwork practices.
  • You will provide authoritative and timely planning advice on frameworks, including to Planning Panels and the Victorian Administrative Appeals Tribunal (VCAT).
  • You will support the provision of strategic advice and support to planning officers within State and local government, including advice on structure or precinct plans, planning scheme amendments and planning policy or process to ensure prevention of harm to the environment and human health is considered up front in land use planning.
  • You will actively contribute to all aspects of statutory planning functions.
  • You will support and enable the continued development of those planning functions so that the primacy of prevention of harm is central to all statutory planning decisions.
  • You will undertake administrative processes and other tasks as directed for the effective achievement of regulatory outcomes; ensure that all Government policies and procedures are complied with.
