This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, undertaking general catering duties to provide high-quality catering services. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Assisting in meal preparation, cooking, distribution, and serving for residents, visitors, staff, and functions.
  • Observing food safety, HACCP, quality, and hygiene standards, adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate records, including monitoring and recording food temperatures.
  • Reporting resident feedback on meal satisfaction or otherwise.
  • Working collaboratively with staff to deliver person-centered food services and supports that are safe and effective.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Previous experience in a food handling role.
  • Previous experience driving commercial vans.
  • A current and valid Driver's License permitting you to drive in South Australia.
  • Sound best practice food handling skills.
  • Adequate communication skills and good English literacy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with older people.
  • Sound manual handling skills.
  • Good time management to complete tasks within allocated time.
  • Basic understanding of supporting residents living with dementia, including those displaying challenging behaviors.
