Improve Prisoner Mental Health Transition

The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a skilled professional to join our team as an Assessment and Transition Coordinator.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering the Corrections Victoria Reintegration Pathway (CVRP) to prisoners with serious and significant psychiatric conditions.
  • Undertaking prisoner risk assessments and needs assessments, and contributing to the Case Management Review process.
  • Collaborating with local and contracted Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) service providers.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a demonstrated understanding of the specific transition and reintegration issues and needs of prisoners with mental health conditions.

You should also be able to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Additionally, you will need to have the capacity to work collaboratively with all stakeholders in a prison setting.

This is a fixed-term, full-time opportunity until 30 June 2027.
