Support a Vibrant Individual with Autism and Intellectual Disability

We are seeking a dedicated support worker to assist a remarkable client living in Frankston. This individual has Autism, Intellectual Disability, OCD, and Anxiety, requiring a high level of care and attention.

  • Client Overview:
    • This vibrant individual has transitioned into Supported Independent Living after spending his entire life with his parents.
    • He requires a support worker who can honour and maintain his daily routines, sensory needs, and anxiety levels.
    • Our client's world is built on routine, stability, and meaningful engagement.

About the Role

This casual role involves supporting our client with daily routines, activities, and emotional well-being. You will be part of a dedicated support team that values empathy, consistency, and client-led care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help with daily routines, including morning writing activities.
  • Support during activities like yoga, Lego, aquarium visits, Thomas content, and nature walks.
  • Confidently support client in the pool during swimming sessions.
  • Assist with OCD routines, sensory needs, and anxiety management.
  • Calmly manage repetitive behaviours and tech-related fixations.
  • Maintain boundaries - no personal phone use during support.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working with non-verbal clients and managing complex behaviours.
  • Calm, patient, and emotionally resilient temperament.
  • Comfortable using technology, including iPads and YouTube.
  • Able to follow strict routines and handle sensory sensitivities.
  • Must be able to swim.
  • Experience with ASD, OCD, or complex behaviours is ideal.
  • Epilepsy training is a bonus.

Compliance Requirements

You will be required to undergo:

  • NDIS Workers Screening Check.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • First Aid and CPR certificate.
  • Certificate III or IV in individual support, disability or equivalent.
  • Australian driver's license and fully insured vehicle.
