About the role

KEMA Care Pty Ltd is seeking a passionate and experienced Special Autism Support Worker to join our team in Bundoora, VIC. This is a casual role, offering flexible work hours to support individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related conditions.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing one-on-one support and assistance to clients with ASD, helping them develop daily living skills, social communication, and community engagement
  • Implementing personalised support plans and interventions to address the unique needs and goals of each client
  • Facilitating engaging activities and outings to promote clients' physical, social, and emotional wellbeing
  • Maintaining detailed records and documentation to monitor client progress and communicate with families and other support services
  • Collaborating with the wider care team to ensure a cohesive and holistic approach to client support

What we're looking for

  • Minimum two years of experience working with individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, or other complex needs
  • Strong understanding of person-centred approaches and the ability to tailor support to individual needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients and their families
  • Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting individuals with diverse needs
  • Relevant qualifications in disability support, community services, or a related field
  • A valid driver's licence and access to reliable transportation
