Senior Media Advisor Role Summary

This Senior Media Advisor position presents an opportunity to utilize strategic storytelling, protect and elevate a reputable brand through impactful media and communications strategies. You will be instrumental in overseeing day-to-day media operations, managing enquiries, coordinating spokesperson briefings, nurturing strong relationships with journalists and monitoring the media landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors and media outlets.
  • Act as media liaison during communications campaigns and handle sensitive communications with guidance.
  • Monitor media coverage and identify reputation risks for escalation and response.
  • Support the development of proactive communication plans and lead tactical response efforts during reputational issues.

Requirements:

  • 5 to 8+ years' experience in communications, media relations or related field with proven leadership experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field.
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with media interview experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in crisis communications and reputation management.
