IT Support Specialist Role OverviewOur company is seeking a skilled IT Support Specialist to provide on-site support services to our clients.
  • Handling desktop and network issues requires a strong understanding of technology, as well as excellent problem-solving skills. IT Support Specialists must be able to identify and resolve technical problems efficiently.
  • Installing and upgrading operating systems is another critical task for this role. The specialist must have in-depth knowledge of various operating systems, including their installation and configuration procedures.
  • Patching software and hardware is essential to ensure the stability and security of computer systems. The IT Support Specialist must be able to identify and install relevant patches, as well as troubleshoot any related issues.

 

Requirements:To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and skills:
  • Experience in handling desktop and network issues: This includes troubleshooting hardware and software problems, configuring networks, and resolving connectivity issues.
  • Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals (LAN, WAN, Switch, Router): A good understanding of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), switches, and routers is essential for this role.
  • Familiarity with Cisco routers and switches: Knowledge of Cisco's range of products, including routers and switches, is required for this position.
  • Good understanding of wireless networking basics: Wireless networking involves setting up and managing wireless networks, ensuring secure and stable connections.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and local language: Effective communication is crucial for this role, as IT Support Specialists interact with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.

 

Tools and Equipment:The IT Support Specialist will need access to the following tools and equipment:
  • A fully charged laptop with Win8 or 10 operating system and admin rights
  • Cisco Console cable (DB9 RJ-45 or USB RJ-45)
  • Putty
  • TeamViewer
  • TFTP server
  • Screwdriver Set
  • Internet data card

 

Working Conditions:This is an on-call/dispatch role, which means the IT Support Specialist will work independently and as part of a team. They must be able to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
