Chief Data Protection Strategist

The organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Data Privacy Officer to play a key part in shaping and managing its approach to data protection.
This strategic role will guide the development and delivery of privacy strategies that meet international and local privacy laws, ensuring compliance with regulations such as the Australian Privacy Act and the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
Key Responsibilities- Shape and deliver the organisation's data privacy strategy, aligning with broader business goals.
- Embed privacy into major technology initiatives such as cloud, analytics, and artificial intelligence.
- Ensure compliance with privacy laws across Australia, New Zealand, and other jurisdictions.
- Lead privacy risk and impact assessments, incident responses, and audits.
- Work closely with business leaders to guide privacy practices within strategic plans.
- Develop strong relationships with internal teams to drive accountability and compliance.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience in creating a data privacy roadmap within a complex organisation operating in multiple regions.
- Expert knowledge of privacy laws spanning Australia & New Zealand.
- Skilled at applying privacy in technology strategies, including artificial intelligence and cloud platforms.
