Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to join our Mobile Maintenance team at Glencore. This role involves comprehensive maintenance responsibilities, including routine servicing, repairs, and troubleshooting of various vehicles and equipment. You will be expected to perform scheduled maintenance tasks and address breakdowns effectively, contributing to a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with a diverse team while also working independently as needed.
  • Uphold a high standard of craftsmanship in all maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct maintenance and repair work on light fleet vehicles, including but not limited to, Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Holden, and Isuzu, as well as light trucks and trailers.
  • Engage in planned maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance of all assets.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Safely transport personnel and equipment to various job sites.
  • Assist in meeting budgeted development and production goals through varied tasks.
  • Foster a positive team atmosphere and adhere to safety protocols while contributing to production targets.
  • Mentor and guide apprentices in their development.
  • Participate in project work as required.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Trade qualification as a Motor Mechanic.
  • Valid manual driver's license.
  • Refrigeration Handling Licence is advantageous.
  • Proven experience in repairing mobile machinery.
  • Strong commitment to safety and a positive work ethic.
  • Previous experience in mining or heavy industry is preferred.
  • High-risk work licenses, including Working at Heights and Confined Space, are beneficial.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Adaptability to change with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Eagerness to learn new processes and technologies.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar systems is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Excel is advantageous.
