About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Construction Estimator to join our team at BAE Systems Australia.

Job Description
  • Assess supplier claims, calculate quantities of labour, materials and durations and support assessment of non-conformance.
  • Support initial tendering, contract management and supplier disputes working with the contract managers to deliver to cost, schedule, quality and safety requirements of the business.
  • Manage commercial aspects of sub-contract accounts from procurement to interim and final account agreement, in accordance with relevant contract terms and associated pricing options.
  • Establish and agree contractual programme, forecasting and reporting project commercial performance.
  • Support the assessment of Contractor claims and payment valuations ensuring these are accurately assessed, challenged appropriately, certified and paid on time.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to resolve issues as escalated through the Subcontractors, internal stakeholders or the Line of Business Production Subcontracts Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Australia Citizen, eligible to obtain and maintain a defence security clearance (Essential).
  • Demonstrated Quantity Surveying experience within a relevant sector.
  • Experience in the delivery of services/ construction contracts, detailed understanding of optimal contracting and pricing routes.
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial discipline (desirable).
  • Solid commercial skills and acumen with a proven capability in negotiations and managing production subcontracts.
  • Outstanding communication and time management skills.
