Teaching Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated teacher to join our online education team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons to students in Years 7-10, utilizing their expertise in multiple subjects including English, Mathematics, Humanities, Science, Health and Physical Education, Language – Mandarin, Digital and Design Technologies, Creative and Visual Arts, Biblical Studies, and Wellbeing and Pastoral Care.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, a servant heart, and the ability to inspire and manage students while communicating effectively with parents to support a culture of high expectations.

  • Job Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement teaching programs or courses of study;
  • Competent in the use of ICT learning platforms, in particular Canvas;
  • Have the content knowledge and pedagogical practice to engage students in online learning;
  • Provide a child-safe environment in accordance with child-safe standards;
  • Participate in child safety and wellbeing induction and training provided by the school and always follow the school's child safety and wellbeing policies and procedures;
  • Act in accordance with our Child Safety Code of Conduct;
  • Identify and raise concerns about child safety issues in accordance with our Child Safety Responding and Reporting Obligations Policy and Procedures, including following the Four Critical Actions for Schools;
  • Ensure students' views are taken seriously and their voices are heard about decisions that affect their lives;
  • Model and promote the vision and values of the school;
  • Teach an area of the curriculum to senior year levels and develop online VCE courses for delivery;
  • Maintain records of class attendance and record student progress;
  • Implement effective student management consistent with the school's strategic plan;
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings as required;
  • Be actively involved in regular staff devotions and prayer.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, applicants must demonstrate the following qualifications and characteristics:

  • Evidence of the right to work in Australia;
  • Proof of identity;
  • Recognised teaching qualification;
  • Clearance status of the Working with Children Check (where applicable);
  • Registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT);
  • Statements of service from previous child-connected roles;
  • References from previous child-connected roles;
  • A committed Christian comfortable with sharing faith;
  • Committed to improving student academic outcomes;
  • High expectations for what students are capable of, both academically and behaviourally;
  • Relate well to staff, students, and parents;
  • Display the capacity to improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes;
  • Demonstrate excellent teaching as described by the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers;
  • Receive feedback on teaching and implement changes;
  • Effectively plan for, collect, and analyze educational data, then devise appropriate strategies and interventions to improve student outcomes.
