We're looking for an experienced Senior Mainframe Developer to join a dedicated team supporting one of Victoria's most important workplace health and safety regulators. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on business-critical systems that directly impact the safety and wellbeing of the community.
What you'll be doing:
- Maintaining and enhancing a large, complex mainframe application.
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues across ADABAS Natural, JCL, SQL, and system interfaces.
- Contributing to new development projects and system upgrades.
- Ensuring stability, performance, and security across applications.
- Collaborating with a skilled, multidisciplinary team.
- Participating in an out-of-hours support roster when required.
What we're looking for:
- Strong expertise in ADABAS Natural, IBM mainframes, JCL, and SQL
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- A collaborative mindset with proven team experience
- Must currently reside in Victoria, Australia
Nice to have:
- Experience with COBOL
- Ability to drive proactive improvements for performance and stability
- Familiarity with quality/security standards in software development
