Director of Acute Mental Health Unit

The Director of Acute Mental Health Unit plays a pivotal role in delivering and continually developing a clinical environment/care that prioritizes high-quality, patient-centered care. This is achieved through the provision of clinical excellence and best practice across the service with support from Heads of Department, Western Sydney Local Health District's Mental Health Service.

  • Deliver exceptional care to patients and their families/significant others.
  • Ensure seamless communication among clinicians within the organisation.
  • Maintain detailed patient care treatment plans to facilitate timely patient management.
  • Provide mentorship to medical students and resident medical staff as required, including participation in regular staff appraisal sessions, especially for registrars and resident medical staff.
  • Supervise junior medical staff and offer regular teaching and education aligned with Health Education and Training Institute guidelines.

This role is situated 40 minutes west of the Sydney Central Business District, offering convenient access to transport links and amenities such as restaurants, beaches, and scenic hiking spots.
