Job Description

Ward 18V is an acute inpatient unit for older people with mental health problems. The unit provides treatment and support for residents in the southern metropolitan Adelaide area and some regional areas. It is a 30-bed unit divided into two sections - the General Unit and the High Dependency Unit.

This vacancy offers two possible appointment classifications. Successful applicants will be appointed based on their skills, qualifications, and experience.

About the Role

To qualify for RN2C (Clinical Nurse), candidates must have at least three years, full-time equivalent, post-registration experience, including leadership and supervision of student nurses, enrolled nurses, and less experienced registered nurses.

About You
  • Effective communication skills, including problem solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Registered with the Nursing / Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) with a current practicing certificate. Enrolled in an approved mental health course or hold a mental health qualification.
  • Demonstrated competence in mental health nursing practice according to relevant standards.
  • Proven experience in delivering high-quality, safe care aligned with the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
