Job Title: Medical Director Emergency Department

We are seeking an experienced Medical Director to lead our Emergency Department, overseeing a team of emergency physicians, career medical officers, and registrars.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of delivering safe, high-quality clinical care and patient flow, with experience in emergency medicine and leadership roles. A natural communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, you will work collaboratively with the Nurse Unit Manager and Critical Care Services Manager to ensure a cohesive team-based approach.

  • FACEM registration with current, unencumbered Specialist AHPRA registration
  • Fellowship with the Australian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM)
  • Significant experience in emergency medicine, preferably in private sector settings
  • Demonstrated knowledge of clinical governance principles
  • Working rights to work in Australia
About this Role:

This is a permanent full-time opportunity that requires leading and role-modeling the delivery of emergency medicine services to over 30,000 presentations each year.

You will be responsible for monitoring efficiency, costs, and team contributions to deliver a financially sustainable ED service, as well as contributing to internal and external reviews of the Emergency Department.

As part of our dynamic team, you will have opportunities to undertake duties within the ED and hospital, representing the department on required committees.
