Job Overview

Clinical Nurse Specialists play a vital role in delivering person-centred, recovery-focused and trauma-informed care to children and adolescents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver specialist mental health care to paediatric inpatients, including assessments, therapeutic engagement, and trauma-informed interventions within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Support leadership and resource coordination, assisting senior nursing and psychiatric staff in managing care delivery and team operations.
  • Maintain high-quality, consumer-centric care, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders and adhering to clinical standards and best practices.
  • Contribute to team culture and leadership, promoting a collaborative, positive environment and supporting policy implementation and clinical governance.
  • Promote patient safety and quality, identifying clinical risks, participating in safety initiatives, and driving continuous improvement in care outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
  • Holds or is working towards relevant post-graduate qualifications in mental health or paediatric nursing.
