We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Programs Manager to join our team.

Job Title: Programs Manager

This is a challenging role that requires the successful candidate to have a high level of project management expertise, excellent leadership abilities, and the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment.

The Australian Research Centre works to create and translate knowledge that enables inclusion, equity, health and wellbeing, particularly as they relate to sex, gender, sexuality and relationships.

  • Manage a portfolio of capacity building projects including initiatives for youth, aging and aged care, mental health, and Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisations sectors, including staff and resource management.
  • Identify and implement strategies to enhance processes, support good practice and outcomes for capacity-building projects.
  • Oversee multiple projects, and support staff to deliver projects on time, within scope, and to the required quality standards.
  • Pursue opportunities for partnership, aligned with strategic goals.

Key requirements include:

  • A bachelor's degree or higher with substantial extension of theories and principles learned through experience; or significant management experience; or postgraduate qualifications, or progress towards postgraduate qualifications with extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple concurrent projects and a team of staff.
  • A detailed working knowledge of research related to LGBTIQ+ health and wellbeing, and its implications for service delivery, policy and interventions.
  • Demonstrated management and leadership skills with experience in managing and leading staff to promote a cohesive and effective team and managing workflows.
