About this role

This position is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and experienced professional to join our team as a Gastronomic Lecturer. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, improving, and delivering a higher education tourism and hospitality management program that meets the Higher Education Standards Framework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver independent teaching in the relevant discipline and coordinate or lead other staff as required.
  • Ensure effective and engaging learning is taking place in the classroom, provide feedback and support to students, and assess student learning outcomes using both formative and summative assessments.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and assessments and report student progress to relevant parties.
  • Identify and support students who are at risk of failing and implement timely intervention strategies which should be recorded in student's RTOM.
  • Participate in teaching and learning meetings and collaborate with other teaching staff.
  • Pursue new and effective teaching methodologies and strategies.
Requirements
  • Extensive hospitality and/or tourism leadership experience coupled with a minimum of master's degree in tourism, hospitality, or in food and beverage environment.
  • Must be able to relate to current gastronomic practices and standards in the field.
  • Proven cross-cultural communicator who is empathetic towards students, specifically international students' needs.
