Electrical Engineer for Mine Winder Systems

This role involves taking technical ownership of electrical aspects of mine winder systems as a Project Engineer within the Hoisting Project Team.

Your responsibilities include independently managing defined engineering tasks, collaborating in large cross-functional project teams, and delivering innovative hoisting solutions that meet performance requirements with an emphasis on safety, design integrity, and system reliability.

You will lead the electrical engineering of projects involving high-voltage switchgear, drive and converter systems, motor control centers (MCCs), and power distribution for both new installations and upgrades.

  • Develop and review electrical system designs for mine winders, including drive systems, MCCs, HV/LV distribution, and protection schemes.
  • Support testing, installation, and commissioning activities with technical expertise.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation ensuring contractual obligations are met.
  • Collaborate across functions to ensure seamless project execution from start to finish.

Qualifications for the Role
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with eligibility to attain RPEQ.
  • 2-5 years of experience in engineering design or project execution.
  • Proficiency in standard engineering tools and techniques.
  • Strong understanding of safety and quality.
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and collaboration.
