Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional Anatomical Pathology Professional to join our team at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital Central Laboratory.

The successful candidate will have a passion for clinical excellence, contemporary knowledge and skills in Anatomical Pathology, and a commitment to delivering high-quality diagnostic and consultation services.

The role involves:

  • Providing timely and efficient diagnostic services that meet the clinical needs of referrers across Queensland.
  • Shaping the future of Anatomical Pathology by designing and implementing strategic frameworks grounded in global best practices.
  • Supervising and supporting registrars, fostering their growth and ensuring the highest standards of professional development.
  • Engaging actively in discipline-specific meetings, departmental discussions, and multidisciplinary team forums—building strong partnerships and ensuring alignment with client needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert Anatomical Pathology services, including frozen section service, participating in MDTs, and on-call roster.
  • Conduct training, teaching, research, investigation, analysis, and management activities.
  • Maintain accreditation in your clinical specialty for all laboratories across a diverse network.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated contemporary knowledge, skills, and ability in Anatomical Pathology.
  • High-level interpersonal and communication skills necessary for all aspects of the position.
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and abilities necessary to conduct relevant training, teaching, research, investigation, analysis, and management.
