Reintegration Specialist - Addiction Treatment

A dynamic opportunity has emerged within a government agency, for a highly motivated professional to join an offender reintegration unit as a specialist in addiction treatment.

The team delivers targeted recovery-focused treatments to individuals in custody and the community using contemporary best practice, promoting rehabilitation and reintegration through collaborative work with external services.

As a key member of this team, you will design and deliver AOD-specific programs and services that contribute to reducing recidivism by assisting individuals to proactively address their substance use through targeted interventions.

You will also play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and reviewing client outcomes, as well as contributing to the planning, development, and evaluation of addiction treatment programs and services.

To be successful in this challenging role, you will possess exceptional interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills necessary to build rapport and work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including individuals who use substances.

The ideal candidate will hold qualifications in addiction studies or a related field, along with relevant work experience and the ability to obtain the required AOD skill set within 18 months of commencement.

Background checks will be conducted prior to commencing this role, and a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act is required.

Experience working with detainees/offenders is highly desirable, and applicants are encouraged to submit a written response addressing the job requirements and a current curriculum vitae with referee details.
