About the Role:

Our Mental Health and Justice Health Services provide support to individuals via inpatient and outpatient settings, community health centers, and justice health facilities. We partner with our healthcare consumers, their families, carers, government, and community organizations to ensure they receive the best possible care during treatment and recovery.

The Adult Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit (AMHRU) is an inpatient rehabilitation unit aiming to attain and maximize independence through bio-psychosocial rehabilitation in all aspects of daily living for community reintegration. The Adult Mental Health Day Service (AMHDS) is located adjacent to AMHRU and focuses on step-down programs, pharmacotherapy, psychological therapies, and healthy living skills.

This position is primarily based in the AMHRU with some scope to contribute to both services. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality care to patients. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing bio-psychosocial rehabilitation in all aspects of daily living;
  • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans;
  • Collaborating with patients, carers, and other stakeholders to achieve treatment goals;

Requirements:

  • National Police Certificate;
  • Current registration under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011;
  • Compliance with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening, and Vaccination policy;
