Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to join our team in the Biochemical Genetics Division. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of our Newborn Bloodspot Screening Laboratory and Metabolic Laboratory.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • ">
  • Providing real-time services to meet internal and external stakeholder needs">
  • Supporting the overall quality of the laboratory, including routine tasks and checks, filing, reagent preparation, maintaining all laboratory records, and ensuring the safety of the laboratory">
  • Entering accurate data and generating precise reports">
  • Sharing knowledge in specialized laboratory techniques">
  • Maintaining laboratory stock inventory, equipment records, and organizing preventative maintenance to ensure the smooth running of the laboratory">
  • Providing technical support within the laboratory">

About You

To be successful as a Laboratory Technician, you will require:

  • ">
  • A Diploma (Medical Laboratory) or equivalent qualification">
  • Understanding of specimen reception and patient information">
  • Experience with routine pathology laboratory practices and procedures">
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain high-quality work output while managing competing priorities">
  • Demonstrated general knowledge and experience with utilizing computer database systems">
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in area of expertise">
