Community Engagement Advisor

The North-South Corridor project is a significant infrastructure development that will have a lasting impact on the community and people of Adelaide.

The project scope includes a 10.5km motorway with twin three-lane tunnels, road and bridge construction, and complex M&E installations.

The Role

This role is pivotal in fostering positive relationships with local stakeholders, supporting the Construction team, and ensuring the project is delivered with minimal community disruption.

The Community Engagement Advisor will work closely with the Senior Engagement Advisor/Engagement Lead to execute community engagement strategies and activities within their designated precinct of the project.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify stakeholder and community issues and develop strategies to mitigate impacts.
  • Ensure client expectations are fully understood and establish strong working relationships with the client.
  • Assist in developing and implementing the Stakeholder Relations and Communications Management Plan for the project, including plans and procedures for specific areas.
  • Develop good working relationships with the project construction team to ensure activities are undertaken strategically, minimizing impact and disruption to stakeholders and the community.
  • Provide advice and assistance to the construction teams on community and stakeholder activities, ensuring communication and notification requirements are met.
  • Write high-quality communication materials, including notifications, newsletters, advertising, social media posts, and formal correspondence.
  • Manage responses to project-related communications matters via various channels.
About You
  • A tertiary degree or certificate in public relations, journalism, stakeholder management, or marketing, or relevant experience in these fields.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in community engagement, with at least 2 years in an advisory capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing community engagement plans within the construction or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain strong relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a capacity to convey complex information to various audiences.
  • Familiarity with the local area and community dynamics is highly desirable.
