The Intrax Geotechnical department is dedicated to delivering high-quality, end-to-end geotechnical services to our clients.

Geotechnical engineers at Intrax are exposed to projects from conception through to construction.

With our ability to provide laboratory testing through our NATA-accredited laboratory and in-house drilling services, the Intrax geotechnical team provides an incredible pathway for personal development in the geotechnical field.

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Team Lead to join our Geotechnical team on a full-time basis.

This role is based in Sydney, NSW.

In this exciting and fast-paced role, your day-to-day will include:

  • Mentoring and management of the NSW geotechnical team
  • Technical support and verification for junior staff within the Intrax geotechnical team
  • Refining and delivering on the strategy for the NSW geotechnical team with support from the national geotechnical leadership group
  • Strengthening existing and forging new client relationships in the local market
  • Monitoring and reporting on financial performance of the NSW geotechnical team
  • Providing technical support to Intrax's business development team
  • Traveling and minor fieldwork may be required as part of the role
  • Providing high-quality geotechnical consultation on a broad range of projects, including foundations, retaining walls, slope stability investigations, pavement designs, and earthworks supervision
  • Effectively communicating and consulting on design outcomes with clients
  • Delivering or guiding complex geotechnical projects and navigating local government and regulatory requirements
  • Maintaining OHS standards within the geotechnical team

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Hold a tertiary qualification in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering, or equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution
  • Be a CPEng or equivalent
  • Have a minimum of 10 years' experience in a geotechnical role
  • Have a minimum of 5 years' local experience within the Sydney basin geology
  • Have a network of industry connections within NSW
  • Be motivated to shape and grow the direction of your own geotechnical team
  • Have an experienced geotechnical investigation background to AS
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Have a record of developing and sustaining client relationships
  • Be able to negotiate complex project contracts (i.e. government)
  • Be proficient in software skills in major geotechnical design suites (Roc Science, Wallop) and Microsoft Suite
  • Have excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Be able to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Have experience in implementing Australian standards, Industry standards & Tf NSW standards
  • Hold a current valid driver's license
