Job Title: Data Engineer - Business Intelligence Specialist

Job Summary:

Lime Recruitment is currently working with a large government department to recruit a Data Analyst contract to work on enterprise AWS Cloud environment. As the Data Analyst, you will lead the elicitation for business data processes and data flows within a legacy on-prem solution and translate the requirements for a new enterprise AWS Cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Functional Specifications: Produce functional specifications to communicate user requirements in technical terms for approval by nominated members of a project team.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to find solutions by analysing issues and problems systematically, gathering broad and balanced input, drawing sound conclusions, and translating conclusions into timely decisions and actions.
  • Business Operations: Assess existing business operations, analyse workflows and establish a base for developing improved processes and systems to create process and information models and identify areas of improvement and optimisation.
  • Stakeholder Management: Facilitate stakeholder workshops, interviews and meetings and ensure the alignment of session objectives to outcomes.
  • Process Mapping: Develop process maps, using BPMN standards.
  • Requirements Specification: Develop High Level and Detailed Requirements Specification documents that provide key input into the selection of a suitable solution to deliver intent, business outcomes and stated benefits.

Requirements:

  • Previous Experience: Previous experience capturing business data processes and translating the requirements into technical specifications.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of enterprise data tools including SQL, PowerBI and AWS.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Pragmatic interpersonal skills with previous experience acting as an interface between technical teams and business stakeholder groups.
  • Business Acumen: Previous experience in producing data analysis and data modelling within an enterprise environment.
