Job Overview

This role involves overseeing the scheduling and coordination of courses and prisoner services at the correctional centre, including support services for educational facilities.

Main Responsibilities
  • Establish effective communication processes to coordinate links between the correctional centre, service providers, and probation and parole services to ensure appropriate services are being provided.
  • Monitor and analyze data to identify prisoners who require specific services and allocate them accordingly.
  • Compile and provide data and reports on service delivery performance.
  • Foster strong working relationships with stakeholders to support release planning.
  • Provide guidance to contracted service providers on identified service delivery needs.
  • Contribute to ongoing review of service delivery by monitoring efficiency and relevance, identifying gaps in service delivery, and advising on improvements.
  • Liaise with service providers regarding induction training, custodial awareness training, security access, room setup, and resource requirements.
  • Offer ongoing support and practical assistance to external and internal service providers.
  • Maintain waiting lists for programs and courses not managed centrally, including those for prisoners on remand and short-sentence inmates.
  • Schedule and notify prisoners of course/service allocation and respond to queries regarding availability.
  • Allocate prisoners to programs, making offers and recording outcomes.
  • Manage schedules and any scheduling tool for classrooms and educational/program areas, including master schedule development and setup.
Administrative Duties
  • Keep accurate records of program and service participation in IOMS or alternate systems.
  • Perform administrative tasks as requested.
  • Provide IT support and conduct device security checks.
  • Ensure the security and confidentiality of property and information.
