About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and support multiple project managers within our large-scale IT program. The successful candidate will have a strong background in IT project management, leadership, and stakeholder engagement.

Job Description

This is a 12-month initial contract with the potential for extension, offering a hybrid work arrangement. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and supporting multiple project managers and their respective projects across program streams. You will provide guidance, performance evaluations, and foster a culture of accountability to ensure the effective execution of each project.

You will oversee, monitor, and manage the multiple workstreams within the overall program, ensuring alignment with key objectives and timelines. You will coordinate tasks across various teams, track progress, and proactively address risks to ensure integration and delivery of all program components.

You will engage with key IT and business stakeholders to ensure alignment with the program's goals and objectives. You will foster collaboration and clear communication between project teams and stakeholders to ensure all parties are informed and involved throughout the program lifecycle.

You will identify, assess, and manage risks associated with program streams. You will develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to safeguard successful project delivery.

You will establish and uphold governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with program standards. You will monitor and enforce governance processes across all workstreams to maintain consistency and quality.

You will provide regular updates to senior management on the progress, risks, and outcomes of program streams. You will ensure all project activities and deliverables are accurately documented and reported in a timely manner.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 15 years of experience in project and program management, with a focus on IT and digital transformation projects.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Deep knowledge of IT applications, infrastructure, and data governance practices.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to align program streams with broader program goals and develop strategies that drive success.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to overcome challenges and ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is $120,000-$150,000 AUD, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits including a flexible work arrangement, opportunities for professional development, and a supportive team environment.
