About the Role

The Aboriginal Engagement Officer will deliver a culturally secure alcohol and drug service to the community, providing outreach services and support to individuals and families struggling with alcohol and other drug issues. The role involves working with allied agencies, including referrals and shared care, to complement existing services and provide reciprocal referral pathways, consultation, and shared care for Aboriginal people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver culturally secure AOD services to the community
  • Provide outreach services and support to individuals and families

  • Develop and maintain reciprocal referral pathways, consultation, and shared care for Aboriginal people
Requirements
  • Strong Aboriginal community-based experience and connection
  • Knowledge of alcohol and drug issues
  • Well-developed assessment and counselling skills
  • Ability to work with and be part of a team
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills
  • High-level communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel
