Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Community Services team at South West Aboriginal Medical Service (SWAMS). As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, culturally appropriate care to our clients across the aged and disability spectrum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized plans to support clients in achieving their physical and social goals.
- Provide occupational therapy services to clients in community-based settings, including their homes and community centers.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, families, and carers to ensure effective communication and care coordination.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices and evidence-based research in occupational therapy to ensure high-quality care.
Requirements:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy with registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Current WA Driver's Licence.
- Demonstrated clinical skills and experience in the provision of occupational therapy services.
- Demonstrated experience with evidence-based practice.
- Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills.
- Able to work cooperatively in a team environment and autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Ability to determine priorities and manage workloads to meet agreed timelines and objectives.
- Demonstrated high level of written, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to undertake NDIS Workers Screening, Police Clearance and Drug and Alcohol Screen checks.
Desirable Criteria:
- NDIS and/or Community Health Experience.
- An understanding of the unique issues affecting and impacting the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
