About the Role
This position is part of the Evolution Mining team, reporting to the Leading Hand Exploration. The primary objective is to assist geologists with day-to-day activities related to exploration programs, ensuring targets are achieved and scheduled works are completed within the required time frames.
Key Responsibilities
- Process diamond drill core in a timely and accurate manner, including meter marks, RQD, orientation lines, core photography, half-core or whole-core sampling, sample dispatch, and pulp returns.
- Support Mine Geologists with pit mapping and sampling duties as required and directed.
- Maintain the core farm, geology sea containers, and core shed in a high standard of cleanliness and order.
- Assist with exploration work, including geology field sampling, soil sampling, logistics, geophysics, and core yard work.
- Continuously sample AC/RC drill rig programs, including chip traying, sampling, sample dispatch, and data entry in an accurate and timely manner.
- Clean, refuel, and maintain geology vehicles to a high standard.
- Participate in regular safety inspections and safety meetings.
- Maintain health, safety, statutory, regulatory, and licensing standards, and principles, both within own workplace and through the identification of potential risks throughout Evolution.
- Commit to living and supporting the Evolution values of Safety, Excellence, Accountability, Respect.
- Lead a safety culture of continuous improvement and play an active role in our Net Zero 2050 goal.
About You
You must be reliable, have a strong work ethic, and strive to be part of a high-performing team. This role requires you to be willing to carry out a variety of tasks as directed by your supervisor.
Requirements
- Current C Class Driver's License.
- Forklift Ticket desirable.
- Experience in an open-pit mining environment desirable.
- Previous experience or an understanding of processing favorable.
- Willingness to always work safely and adhere to compliance.
- Ability to prioritize and schedule work in order to meet deadlines.
