Job Description

Ventia is seeking an experienced Field Operations Manager to join our team in Darwin, NT. As a key member of our Defence Base Services contract, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing key stakeholders, and supervising and coordinating the building trades to maintain, repair, replace, and ensure the integrity and performance of facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • First Response Coordination: Coordinate and manage first response efforts to emerging Estate Upkeep outages impacting Asset availability.
  • Permit to Work System: Implement and issue the Ventia Permit to Work System, and conduct site audits of work activity safety documentation.
  • Quality Control: Participate in Subcontractor and Project Management Quality Control activities, including validation of work scope completion and value for money assessments.
  • Site Access Coordination: Provide site access coordination, including inductions, access to drawings, maps, and escorts for Subcontractors.
  • Liaison and Relationships: Establish and maintain appropriate on-base liaison and relationships with key Client and Customer representatives.
  • Information Management: Ensure all information regarding works is entered into relevant systems in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Trade or Tertiary Qualifications: Hold trade or tertiary qualifications or experience in at least one of the following - Carpentry/Building/plumbing/Handy person.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Possess well-developed interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Collaboration and Relationship Building: Demonstrate a strong ability to interact collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and maintain positive relationships with Client and Customer.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with use of Microsoft Office packages and ability to learn/use computerized software.
  • Permit to Work System and High-Risk Discipline: Proficiency in the Permit to Work System, and qualifications in at least one high-risk discipline would be highly desirable.
  • Australian Drivers Licence: Hold a current Australian Drivers Licence.
