Structural Drafter

We are seeking a skilled Structural Drafter to join our team. As a key member of our drafting team, you will play a vital role in managing large-scale projects, leading junior drafters, and collaborating with engineers and architects to prepare and coordinate project documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage drafting activities on large projects and lead junior drafters within the project team.
  • Liaise with engineers and architects to prepare and coordinate project documentation.
  • Effectively communicate structural information into drawing format that can be interpreted by builders.
  • Assist the Lead Engineer in preparing preliminary sketch designs from architectural drawings as required.
  • Provide training and assistance to junior drafters, including technical support for Revit and other software.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of drafting systems.
  • Communicate project information to project leaders/project teams.
Requirements:
  • A relevant TAFE qualification or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in structural drafting using Revit.
  • A strong understanding of BCA and relevant Australian Standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and supervising a team of Drafters.
  • Professional level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-solving/analytical skills.
