Job Role Overview

The role of Maintenance Worker is a vital part in ensuring Tasmania's road networks are well maintained to the highest standards.

This permanent full-time position will involve a range of tasks including road maintenance, traffic control, and other related duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and repair of roads
  • Traffic management and control
  • Shadow vehicle operations
  • Vegetation works and mowing
  • General labouring and other tasks as required
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent safety skills and have a focus on getting the job done. A strong team player with good communication skills and a high level of attention to detail will also be an advantage.

Applicants must satisfy the following mandatory selection criteria:

  • General Safety Induction White Card
  • A Traffic Management / Control ticket compliant with AustRoads standards
  • Confidence in working with digital devices and platforms
  • Highly developed organisational and time management skills
  • Strong understanding of civil and safety principles and practices
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a timely and accurate manner
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Competent written and verbal communication skills
  • Current Australian Driver's License C (Car)
  • First Aid and/or CPR ticket
  • Current Australian Resident or hold an Australian Working VISA with rights to work
  • Previous experience in civil asset construction and/or maintenance
  • Traffic Management Ticket
  • Relevant other tickets such as chainsaw/pole saw
  • Ability to operate machinery such as Skid-steer, Excavator
  • Experience operating a ride on mower
  • Sealed and unsealed pavement repair experience
  • Current Australian Medium Rigid Class Licence
  • Heavy Combination (HC) or Medium Combination (MC) Licence
