About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director to lead our Commercial Solutions team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing expertise, advice, and support to drive large-scale supply chain solution projects that optimize organizational value chain integration and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Grow Business and Revenue: Develop and execute strategies to grow our client base and increase revenue.
  2. Oversee Quality of Analysis and Solution Outputs: Ensure the quality of analysis and solution outputs from the team, and provide guidance and support as needed.
  3. Design Test Methodology and Success Criteria: Design and implement test methodologies and success criteria for value-chain improvement solutions across multiple capabilities and regions.
  4. Facilitate Cross-Functional Business Improvement and Solutions Development Workshops: Facilitate workshops to drive business improvement and solutions development across the organization.
  5. Obtain and Document Client Requirements: Obtain and document client requirements for business solutions that improve value-chain integration and performance.
  6. Support Management of Prospective Client Pipeline: Evaluate and qualify solution leads to support the management of our prospective client pipeline.
  7. Project Team Performance Management: Manage the performance of project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Requirements
  1. Education: B.Eng Industrial or BCom Logistics (Honours) or BCom Supply Chain Management (Honours) [NQF level 7 or higher].
  2. Experience: 10 – 15+ years' relevant work experience (operations and/or solution design role).
  3. Skills and Experience: Apply supply chain management knowledge, solve problems in the supply chain using this knowledge, and provide guidance on analysis and design of complex multi-capability supply chain solutions.
  4. Leadership and Team Management: Proven track record of leadership and team/project management, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and direct individuals to take ownership of and achieve desired outputs.
  5. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Establish effective interpersonal relations with key stakeholders to enable functional integration, and provide constructive feedback in a manner that inspires accountability and self-redirection amongst colleagues and subordinates.
  6. Business Acumen: Understand financial and economic concepts and principles, and identify, create, and/or exploit opportunities to drive business growth and sustainability.
  7. Client Centricity: Invest in building relationships with clients, understand client requirements, and ensure high standards of quality outputs.
  8. Improvement Orientation: The ability to explore, identify, learn, and implement new and creative ways to improve processes, value chain effectiveness, service delivery, and cost optimization.
  9. Strategic Orientation: Analyze and evaluate the commercial environment and business factors through systematic processes.
