Financial Accounting Leadership Opportunity

The role of Senior Financial Accountant will involve a key contribution to financial reporting, inventory accounting and strategic decision-making within a dynamic retail environment.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the management of inventory accounting processes to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with relevant standards.
  • Lead month-end and year-end close activities including reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Monitor inventory balances and resolve discrepancies across systems and locations.
  • Provide in-depth financial analysis on inventory movements cost of goods sold COGS and stock variances.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain accurate and timely inventory data.
  • Prepare detailed inventory reports and insights for internal stakeholders and external auditors.
  • Support inventory controls including stock takes and cycle counts.
  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting of inventory-related costs.
  • Identify and implement improvements in inventory accounting and reporting processes.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies and support audit and compliance requirements.
Requirements:
  • A degree in accounting finance or a related field is essential.
  • CA or CPA qualification or equivalent is required.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge particularly in financial reporting and compliance is necessary.
  • Proficiency in using SAP and MS Excel is essential.
  • Experience within the retail industry or a similar fast-paced environment is desirable.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills are required.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders are necessary.
