Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Financial Planning and Strategy Leader to lead our financial planning, management, and reporting functions. As the Financial Planning and Strategy Leader, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial health of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning and Strategy:
    • Develop and implement the company's financial strategy, aligning it with the organisation's overall business goals and objectives.
    • Lead the financial planning and budgeting processes, including the preparation of forecasts, budgets, and financial models.
    • Analyse financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis:
    • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and variance analyses.
    • Present financial reports to the executive team and board of directors, explaining financial performance and variances against budgets.
    • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Cost Management and Efficiency:
    • Monitor and control the company's financial performance by managing costs, optimising spending, and improving financial efficiency.
    • Identify areas for cost reduction and operational improvements, implementing strategies to enhance profitability.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws.
    • Manage the internal controls framework, ensuring financial integrity and minimising risks.
    • Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies, ensuring all financial obligations are met.
  • Cash Flow and Account Management:
    • Manage the company's cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational needs while optimising the use of funds.
    • Oversee treasury functions, including investments, financing arrangements, and management of banking relationships.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
    • Ensure the finance team operates efficiently, meets deadlines, and delivers high-quality work.
  • Strategic Business Partnering:
    • Collaborate with other department heads to provide financial insights and support for key business initiatives and projects.
    • Advise senior management on financial implications of business activities, helping to drive strategic decisions.
  • Systems and Process Improvement:
    • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems, ensuring they support accurate and efficient financial reporting.
    • Continuously review and improve financial processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Master's degree or professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CA) is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Financial Planning and Strategy Leader or in a similar senior financial management role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities, with the capability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and ERP systems.
